The Journey Continues (Level 40)

Well, my journey continues… I’ve reached level 40 on all of the jobs.

I became frustrated at the lack of flight, so I leveled Warrior to 50 to get flight (and the ability to get a private chamber/apartment).

I did a bit more interleaving of jobs going from 30 – 40. I think it might be better for me to focus on getting a job to the next limit to get more quality time with that job.

That’s the tactic I will try from 40 – 50. Of course, at 50, I pick up some new jobs to add to the list.

We’ll see how it goes.

Gear Management

One benefit of leveling everything at once is it allows better management of the armory chest since I know I will not need that equipment again for leveling. I might like it for a glam, but then I just dump it in my glam dresser.

I will occasionally go through and scrub all lower-level gear that is in my armory chest …

an embarrassing duty run resulted…

When I clean it, I go through each job and make sure my equipment is maximized, which means cycling through each job. Time to purge. Going into this, I was a DPS. I finished the purge and then queued for a duty which popped immediately. (Red flag, but it happens enough that it wasn’t a huge flag.)

We dived into the duty, and things went horribly wrong immediately. It was then that I realized I queued as a healer.

Changing from a DPS mindset to a healer mindset is not necessarily easy until healer has become mostly reflexive. Healer is definitely not reflexive for me at this point.

I wanted to go in as a DPS because I was tired and didn’t really feel like some relatively intense mental load.

Well… SURPRISE !!!!

After two wipes, I got my healer head together, and we got through the duty.

After the second wipe, we took a bit to get going. I had to wonder if they were voting to kick me. I really wouldn’t have blamed them.

But they didn’t and we moved forward and got through it.

Learned a lesson… I now triple-check the job I have before queueing.
