Gar's Lair

I’ve finally reached level 50 on all of the jobs available to me. This marks the end of base MSQ and the start of ARR patch content and Heavensward.

Even though there is a lot left to learn about the lands I have covered, including learning more about the tribes, I am excited about exploring some new lands.

Nothing of note occurred in this round. Yeah, I had bad days and better days. I’m still leaning toward Tank and Healer classes. I need to find a DPS class for my off days. After hanging around with Gar so much, there is always Bard. However, I’d like to do something different. Ninja and Dragoon have been fun.

I’m still having a bit of trouble getting my head around DoW and cast times. I need to spend more time with those classes. I also haven’t developed a preference for Scholar or White Mage or Warrior or Paladin. I’m really having fun with those two tank classes.

And then there are the new jobs: Dark Knight, Astrologian, Samurai, Machinist, and Red Mage. And, of course, Blue Mage.

Oh, a Note of Thanks

I really appreciate those random groups with people who politely help me improve my class play. A couple of days ago, I was running as Paladin with a group, and there were a few quick, nice back-and-forths on doing pulls. That is the way to teach and learn. We had a couple of wipes which can be good learning experiences if you can understand what went wrong and how to approach the situation in the future.

Leveling

I think sticking with one job DoW/M to level it through 10 levels is the best way for me to move forward. The jumping between jobs like I did between levels 30 and 40 didn’t help me learn those jobs.

Of course, now I get to pick up six more jobs.

I will go ahead and pick up Blue Mage, although I probably won’t level it like I do the others. Once again, we will see. It is such an odd duck.

So… Onward and upward.
