I’ve been working hard to level all of the jobs in batches. Basically, ten to twenty levels at a time. This has worked reasonably well for me through Level 60. The one problem is that I don’t get to spend enough time learning about a job in depth.
Now that I’ve started getting my job skills to level 70, I think it is time for a change.
I think I have a pretty good understanding of how the different classes work. However, I’ve sort of lost the ability to say, “I’m just a sprout,” when you have accumulated 17 jobs to level 60 or above. Well, I can say it, but if people really look at my search info, I’m not sure they will believe it.
Don’t get me wrong, the “It’s been a while…” should always be valid.
I’m seriously thinking of pushing through with one job and then coming back and focusing on each job after that. It is my hope that the focus on single jobs will help me better retain the play for that particular job and help me remember the rotations.
I hear rumors from some of the other WoLs that we might be asked to help in a new zone soon. Even Gar’s being a bit cagey about that. I’m trying to stay focused on where I am right now.
How I feel about the jobs
General observation, my favorite job classes so far rank as follows:
- Physical Ranged DPS
- Tank
- Healer
- Physical Ranged DPS
- Melee
Red Mage probably ranks near the top because of its unique ranged/melee play combination.
Physical Ranged DPS, Tank, and Healer are almost tied, depending on my mood and fatigue level.
I know Gar is considering taking up more jobs since I’ve been talking about my experiences. We’ll see how that goes.
Well, off to do some stuff. Have fun, be safe, and make some friends along the way.
