If you use Dalamud, there are three items you might want to look into, especially for party maps.

• Globetrotter
• ChatCoordinates
• MapLinker – for those leading party map parties.

Hopefully, that should be enough information for you.

Technically, all mods are against the FFXIV Terms of Service, and their use can get you banned.

That said, there has been rumbling in the community that what Square Enix is really after are two types of mods:

• Those that increase the compute load on the servers.
• Those that give a player an unfair advantage over other players.

I’ll potentially add a third but I have not heard any statements about because I think people don’t want any form of an official statement from SE:

• Those that impact the “family fun” (13 and older) aspect of the game.

Do the above mods make life a bit easier for people running maps? Yes.

Is that an unfair advantage? Is it severe enough to get you banned? Only Square Enix can answer that.

While I haven’t dug into the code, I doubt the above adds load to the server.

In short, if you use them, you are running the risk of being banned. Decide on how acceptable that risk is to you and act accordingly.
