I’m going to try my hand at occasionally hosting mount and minion farms.

For those who don’t know, “farms” is a word that some use in FFXIV where a group is pulled together for the purpose of gathering specific mounts or minions. Typically, this means running a duty multiple times until everyone in the party has gathered the item.

Sometimes, the mount or minion is a random drop in the duty. In other cases, each individual has to collect a number of drops from the duty that are then turned in to obtain the mount, minion, or other items.

In many cases, the duty can be run as an “unrestricted party.” You maintain your current job’s abilities and equipment when run this way. This can make things much easier. HOWEVER, some duties will reduce the drop rate of high-value items, such as mounts and minions.

The individual guides will summarize what is required to obtain the item(s) of interest.
